Welcome to Chadbourne Hall
Part of the Chadbourne Residential College
Celebrating the community experience of a small college at the heart of a great university.
In Chadbourne Residential College (CRC) we partner with faculty, staff, and students to create a living-learning environment that allows students to be part of a community that values the liberal arts while still receiving the benefits that a great research institution such as UW-Madison can provide.
- CRC gives first-year students in Barnard and Chadbourne Halls opportunities to work in collaboration with sophomores, juniors, seniors, faculty, staff, and community partners to create relationships, events, and activities which support the residential college.
- CRC residents take courses together in our community, including over 35 courses with sections or spaces reserved specifically for residents. These courses include Afro-American Studies, English, Chemistry, History, Math, Journalism, Women’s Studies, Political Science, Sociology, and others.
- CRC residents engage in opportunities to get to know other residents through a host of events planned by our community members, including distinguished speakers, discussion tables, community service programs, field trips, and social events.
Get Involved In Chadbourne Residential College
Chadbourne Residential College believes in student initiative and leadership. Most of our programs are in fact planned, launched, and managed not by professors or staff members, but by the undergraduates who live here. Getting involved in planning activities and events allows CRC students to take charge of their own educations and shape the community to reflect their concerns. CRC is a home whose residents are constantly recreating it in their own image. It needs your creativity and leadership to thrive! The CRC offers lots of ways for residents to get involved.
