Our residential learning communities provide you a more seamless experience that blends residential and academic life on campus. Recent survey results clearly demonstrate the benefits of participating in Residential Learning Communities at UW–Madison (2007 National Survey of Living Learning Programs):
- Smoother transition to college - “more strongly agreeing with the statement that the residence hall climate is academically and socially supportive; greater ease with their academic transition to college.” Translation - You'll do better in school!
- More faculty engagement - “more course-related faculty interaction and faculty mentorship; faculty and staff were influential in the pursuit of their major.” Translation - You’ll get to know professors that you normally wouldn’t meet until later in your university career!
- More diversity interactions - “more positive peer diversity interactions; more discussions about socio-cultural issues with their peers; more diversity appreciation.” Translation - You’ll meet cool people and make more friends!
- Greater educational outcomes - “higher critical thinking/analysis abilities; more confidence in college success, writing courses, academic skills, and test-taking skills; higher sense of civic engagement.” Translation - You’ll be an employer’s dream candidate when you leave UW–Madison!

Prospective Students! Visit a Residential Learning Community while on campus!
