Welcome to the CRC
Under the administrative umbrella of the College of Letters and Science, L&S Student Academic Affairs, and University Housing, Chadbourne Residential College comprises more than 800 University of Wisconsin-Madison undergraduate students who live together in Barnard and Chadbourne Halls. As a residential learning community, CRC blends academic life and residential hall living. CRC encourages active student involvement in residential life activities and student governance, and a commitment to issues, activities, and programs related to social change.
- Together we create a community of learners committed to the life of the mind in the broadest sense.
- Together we will use a variety of informal activities -- lectures, symposia, discussion groups, field trips, film nights, art exhibits, parties – to complement our formal studies.
- Together we create a community in which students and professors have lots of chances to get to know each other outside the classroom in an effort to foster all collaborative learning, mentoring, and friendship.
- Together we can develop our leadership skills by involvement in community service both on campus and off.
- Together we create a community which promotes tolerance, respect, and well-roundedness among its members by encouraging community members to learn from and take joy in each other's diverse backgrounds and talents.
