You may make your SOAR housing reservation online when you reserve your specific SOAR session. Please make sure that you register for housing on the appropriate dates that match your SOAR session.

Guest Rooms and Amenities

SOAR guests will be staying in Elizabeth Waters Hall (known affectionately as Liz), which is located in the central campus area near the shores of Lake Mendota.

Students are assigned to a double room with another student of the same gender. Students may request a specific roommate. Parents and guests will be assigned to a single room unless they request a double room and a specific roommate. Students are assigned to different floors than parents and guests.

Guest rooms are air-conditioned and simply furnished with single beds, dressers, desks, desk chairs and a small refrigerator. Linens, pillows, blankets, bath towels, wash cloths and soap are also provided. For your convenience, data jacks and digital television connections are available in each room. Laundry facilities and vending machines are located in the hall. The Purple Room has comfortable seating and a big screen TV.

Men and women are housed in separate units and have shared single gender bath facilities on each floor. Couples are housed in the third (middle) unit and typically have two single gender common bath facilities on each floor. Bathrooms are spacious with separate individual shower stalls and dressing areas for privacy. We suggest that you bring a bathrobe, slippers/flip flops and other amenities (i.e. shampoo, toothbrush, etc.).

Daily housekeeping service is provided each morning or early afternoon for those staying more than one night.
