Amenities and Services

Conveniently located in the heart of the UW-Madison campus, Merit House and Susan B. Davis House are a short walking distance from campus classrooms and libraries, city bus stops, and restaurants or dining facilities. In addition to the specific features available for each residence hall, each room includes the following amenities:

  • Secure buildings. The buildings are accessible by key only to the assigned residents and staff who may work in the building.
  • In each room: bed for each student, mattress pad, desk, desk chair, bookshelf, dresser, closet space, and window coverings.
  • Rooms are wired for high-speed Internet access and cable TV.
  • All rooms are equipped with window air-conditioners during the summer.
  • Cooking utensils, dishes and silverware are not provided in either of these residence halls. A limited number of items may be available through house fellow check out. Residents should plan to bring their own.
  • University Housing food service is not available to summer housing residents.
  • Telephones and landline phone service are not provided in individual residence hall rooms. Students should plan to use cell phones to make calls.
  • A telephone for local calls is located in the main lounge of both Merit House and Susan B. Davis.
  • Parking is not available.
