Residential Learning Communities

The Residential Learning Communities at UW-Madison are a great place for students to integrate the various facets of their lives. By combining living and learning experiences together, residents have the opportunity to become well-rounded individuals with a wealth of diverse experiences.

Bradley Learning Community

“Oh, the places you’ll go!” Bradley is a uniquely challenging and supportive living–learning program for first-year students; our community is created anew each year through the ideas, energy, and talents that students bring. At Bradley, we believe that learning takes place everywhere, and that we can learn from everyone. Opportunities abound to explore yourself and the world around you. We hope you will join us if you’re ready to jump with both feet into your UW-Madison experience, and to give back to others with equal abandon.

Chadbourne Residential College

Chadbourne Residential College is an ideal place for students who want to combine academics with membership in a dynamic community.

Many opportunities exist in CRC for involvement and leadership. CRC encourages students to become well-rounded adults by learning about the world they inhabit. CRC residents often share their talents with the campus, city, state, and world through community projects.

International Learning Community

The International Learning Community (ILC) experience is ideal for students planning to study abroad, students studying foreign languages, international students, and any students simply interested in world affairs. ILC residents bring enthusiasm and curiosity for learning about other cultures as well as sharing information about their own. They are excited about meeting people from all over the world. All students in the ILC take a small seminar course on global issues with a full professor in the ILC program both semesters of their first year on campus—a great opportunity for new students. Live locally... think globally.

Multicultural Learning Community

Students seeking to deepen their understanding of others and themselves will find a stimulating home in the Multicultural Learning Community. A close-knit community forms here — bridging the diverse backgrounds of our residents and creating a meaningful place for all residents to talk, listen, learn, and explore new ideas and perspectives. In the MLC, you will discover a community of students, faculty, and staff who will welcome you and support you, as well as challenge you, while you learn and have fun.

Women in Science and Engineering

Women interested in science, math, technology and/or engineering can make strong academic and personal connections with students, faculty, and staff who share their interests. Participants in the WISE program benefit from having a small academic community within the setting of a large research university. In addition to enrolling in classes together, you can also tour labs, find internships, and go on great trips with other WISE students. We invite you to grow and thrive in the WISE community!
