Continuing Student Room Selection
Who is a “Continuing” Student?
A Continuing Student is a UW-Madison student who currently does not live in the University Residence Halls for the current academic year, but would like to live for a future academic year.
Wouldn’t it be nice to choose your own room?
You can! Continuing students are given the opportunity to select their room online in the University Residence Halls for 2010-11 using our room selection program called Rooms OnLine. Rooms Online provides a link to our residence hall floor plans to assist you in selecting a room.
How does the process work?
1. Apply for and return your University Residence Halls Contract and deposit by early March.
2. An email will be sent to you inviting you to visit our Rooms OnLine site to select your room. This usually happens in late March.
3. Log on to Rooms OnLine using your Net ID and password and select from the available rooms.
4. If you select a room online, we will send you an official confirmation of your 2010-11 assignment the first week of June.
Important items to note:
- If you decide not to select a room using Rooms OnLine, you will be part of our mass assignment process in late May and your assignment will be sent to you the first week of June.
- If you are unable to find a room that interests you, select a room in the same hall or in the nearest hall and then stop down to the Assignment Office in the lower level of Slichter to put your name on a room change card list. We maintain a waiting list of double and single room change cards.
- The Rooms OnLine room selection option is not available to students coming in new at the spring semester.
