Roommate Requests (for new students)
Please note: If you list a preferred roommate, you are telling us that being with a preferred roommate is more important to you than your hall choices.
Listing another new student as a preferred roommate.
In Rooms OnLine you and your preferred roommate (requests need to be mutual) should:
- Enter your preferred roommate's name and last four digits of the Campus ID.
- Coordinate your hall preferences, so that you and your preferred roommate list your hall preferences in the exact same order.
Listing a current resident in the University Residence Halls as a preferred roommate.
We are somtimes unsuccessful at matching new residents with current residents.
In Rooms OnLine, the new student should:
- Enter your preferred roommate's name and last four digits of the Campus ID.
- Coordinate your hall preferences with the current resident. You will want to list as many residence hall choices as possible where you and the current resident are interested in living.
Current residents will have detailed information about what they need to help facilitate roommate matches with new students during the Returning Resident Room Selection process.
