Who are the Bradley Fellows?

Ben Meyer

Hi! I'm Ben. I'll play along and give you the basics. I'm a junior from Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, and I lived in Bradley as a freshman and was a Peer Mentor here last year. I'm a Political Science major who still hasn't given up the dream of playing in the NBA...just kidding. I'm a diehard sports fan, and constantly battling with other Bradley Fellow Joe Longino. He is a Chicago Cubs fan and I support the clearly superior Milwaukee Brewers. I am also a big history nerd, so if you ever have the sudden urge to recreate a Civil War battle with me, just knock on my door. In all seriousness, I'm looking forward to a great year in Bradley and hopefully finally kicking my ridiculous addiction to M&Ms. See ya.

Hey everyone, my name is Joe Longino. I am from Lombard Illinois (one of those Chicago suburbs), and as you can probably guess, a HUGE Cubs/Bears/Bulls/Blackhawks fan. Hopefully, that sparks some nice conversation this year. Anyways, I am thinking about majoring in chemistry or biochemistry…not sure which one. What am I going to do with that? I’m working on that too. I don’t watch much T.V., love to watch movies, and play my Xbox 360 religiously. Anyways, whether or not you picked Bradley as your first choice, you will have a great time. I lived there as a freshman (when I met my two roommates from last year), and was a peer mentor last year. Trust me, you will meet people you will be friends with for at least the rest of your college career. And yes, it’s also a great location in my opinion because it is close to the lakeshore path, the NAT, Steenbock, and (who could forget) Camp Randall.

Hello Bradleyites. My name is Becca. Things you should know: I am a junior studying Dance and Kinesiology. (What is that? It is the study of exercise movement, so an excellent choice in major for pre-physical therapy.) My hometown is not really a town, I live in the country in the area of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I am a rather loud person, as you will soon discover, especially when I laugh. I enjoy all things silly, childish, and fantasy related, so let me know if you would like to have deep intellectual conversations about Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Buffy, Sesame Street, or Arrested Development. I putz around with arts & crafts, especially origami, coloring, and tie dye and I enjoy a good play or musical. On campus I like to study at Steenbock library, walk on the Lakeshore Path, visit my older sister at the Vet School, and eat ice cream from Babcock Hall. I am super excited to be a Bradley Fellow, so we should hang out and be friends.

Hello Henmon House, and welcome to the Bradley Learning Community! My name’s Crystal Lipek and I’m very excited for the 2009-2010 school year! I was born in the Netherlands, but grew up in Milwaukee. I am a senior majoring in English for Secondary Education and also majoring political science with plans to go to law school! Besides spending time doing schoolwork and working as your awesome house fellow, I really enjoy meeting new people having discussions about almost anything, watching movies, singing, and spending time outdoors! One of my favorite outdoor activities on campus is going out to the docks behind the Porter boathouse and napping in the sun! Another favorite of mine is attending Badger football games in the fall; I am the type of fan who gets up really early on a Saturday morning to get front row seats! Other than that I consider myself a very fun and caring person. I love playing cards, board games and Guitar Hero. I also enjoy almost any type of music. I consider myself a person who appreciates good food and I am always looking to try new restaurants around campus. I have a tendency to bake delicious things, so stop by and I may have something amazing to share! I've been fortunate to have had very fulfilling years here at UW-Madison (and in the BLC!) and I look forward to sharing those experiences with you and also to help you create your own memories! See you soon!

Ahlan wa sahlan! Bienvenue! Welcome to the BLC! I’m Sean Rao, and I’m a junior majoring in economics and international studies. I love languages, having studied French and Arabic, geography, and politics and hope to use them by working for the State Department as a diplomat in the Foreign Service. (Though I’m not totally decided!) I’m originally from Wisconsin and grew up in Hubertus, a town about a half hour drive northwest of Milwaukee. I spent my freshman year in Bradley and am excited to be coming back! When I’m not studying for the dreaded exams (don’t worry, they’re not that bad), you might catch me playing the flute, reading about international politics, out on the Lakeshore Path, or practicing my language skills. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and hope you feel free to talk to me about our community here at Bradley, UW-Madison, international issues, languages, or whatever interests you!

Bonjour! Ciao! Hola! Zdravo! Hello! My name is Whitney Lloyd and welcome to Bradley! I’m a senior from Waukesha, WI, majoring in French, International Studies and I’m also Pre-Med. (What can I say, I have a lot of diverse interests and I like to keep my options open…) I love the world of academia (which is good because I’m going to be there for a while…) and some of my academic interests include: foreign languages (I speak French, Italian, Spanish, Serbo-Croatian and I just started German), science (especially anything biology related, unfortunately I’m kind of useless when it comes to physics), politics, history and literature. I have a good head for trivia and love to trade fun facts on a myriad of subjects, but especially TV and film! I’m a huge movie buff and enjoy everything from old to new in every genre (except horror). I love to read (again, just about anything), listen to music (you guessed it…anything…), and travel (to anywhere, but in particular adventure travel…). Some of my hobbies include knitting, drawing, writing, theatre, photography, hiking and kayaking. I love to try new things and am always looking for people to share adventures!

Hello everyone, my name is Brandon Kenney and I’m a Junior majoring in Sociology and Agriculture and Applied Economics with plans to go to graduate school. I am particularly interested in the issues of globalization and immigration and have aspirations to apply my studies through public policy and/or politics. My hometown is Greendale, WI, which is just to the south of Milwaukee. In my spare time I enjoy listening to and playing music, I often find myself enjoying everything from avant-garde jazz to mainstream hip hop. I enjoy the outdoors and look forward to spending some time exploring the lakeshore nature preserve. On campus I find myself working with the Slow Foods UW-Madison chapter and also writing for Emmie music magazine. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and learning about both your academic and personal interests. See you soon!
