KroCS-wide Academic Resources

Academic Program Coordinator

Hi! Interested in learning more about Academics in KroCS? Contact the KroCS Academic Program Coordinator.

Tutoring

Math, Writing, Economics, Chemistry and Spanish tutoring is available, for free, in Holt Commons. No sign-up is necessary. Hours can be found on the Housing Academic Tutoring page.

Study Cents

Study Cents is an academic initiative program that encourages the development of good study habits and rewards residents for their academic excellence. If you are seen studying by your House Fellow or attend an academic event, you can be rewarded with "study cents," which you can redeem for free cookie and fruit coupons or entry into our semester drawing where you can win great prizes like iTunes and University Bookstore gift cards. Ask your House Fellow for more information.

Study Groups & Study Group Kickoff

Students in Kronshage, Cole and Sullivan Halls form study groups to help each other with common classes. Whether it's doing homework, studying for tests, or practicing a foreign language, study groups can help you succeed! Each semester, during the third week of classes, the KroCS community hosts a Study Group Kickoff, which gives residents the opportunity to meet other residents taking the same classes and form study groups on the spot. For more information, talk to your House Fellow or Academic Program Coordinator, or visit the Class Connections website.

Technology Learning Center

The Kronshage Technology Learning Center (TLC), a state-of-the-art computer lab, is located in the basement of Kronshage Main, open 24-hours-a-day to residents of Kronshage, Cole, and Sullivan Halls. The KroCS TLC has Apple computers offering both Windows 7 and MacOSX operating systems. Computers come fully loaded with a variety of professional software packages, such as Microsoft Office 2007 and the Adobe Creative Suite. The TLC also offers free 3-day equipment checkout of digital cameras, Macbook laptops, video cameras and projectors at the Holt Desk.

Find out more on the Technology Learning Center website.

Honored Instructors

Students can nominate their favorite instructors to be recognized for their great work. Nominated professors receive certificates of achievement from KroCS and the Office of Academic Programs. Nomination forms will be available at the Holt Desk in April.
KroCS Textbook Exchange

The KroCS Textbook Exchange gives KroCS residents the opportunity to buy and sell their used textbooks to other residents in their community. Whether its Math, English, or Poli Sci, chances are you can find a text you need at this event!

Coming in time for Spring Semester of 2012!
