For Faculty and Staff
We are always looking for lively and engaged people to join our vibrant community. Research shows that when students meet faculty and staff members outside traditional roles, they become more comfortable with informal interactions and asking for help, and this assists their learning and growth.
CRC students report that interacting with faculty and staff members in our community helps them immeasurably. "Wise adults" become mentors, allies, research role models, references, and facilitators of their intellectual development, to name a few! Since 90% of a student's time during college is spent outside the classroom, our faculty, staff, and community partners have many opportunities to stimulate and be involved richly with student development.
Our faculty and staff partners often report that CRC students are enthusiastic, motivated, and engaged learners. We have some plain old fun too. Will you join us?
Here are some ways you might engage in our community:
- Come along on a ski trip, a visit to the American Players Theatre, or a service project
- Join one of many book discussions (See the CRC Common Read for a start)
- Teach a section of your course here at CRC
- Share your story through our What Matters to Me and Why series
- Eat your lunch with students in Rheta's, our in-house cafeteria. Check out our Food for Thought program too.
- Hold some office hours in Rheta's!
- Serve as a judge or "neutral party" during the CRC Olympics and other events
- Refer your colleagues and friends who might be interested
