Resources in Chadbourne
The CRC Resource Center provides CRC residents free check outs of DVDs, books, board games, laser tag, sporting equipment, test prep materials, karaoke, and more. With new shipments arriving monthly, checking out that new movie or book that you've been wanting is easy. Can't find something you'd like? Make a suggestion! Whether you want to check out what's new or stop by and say hi, our friendly and attentive staff is always willing to help. We invite you to stop by our brand new office located just off the Chadbourne Main Lounge and hang out any night of the week.
The Front Desk
The front desk is located on the first floor of Chadbourne Hall. Residents can buy stamps, check out a vacuum, pick up mail/packages, check out a key to the music room, and put money on their Housing Choice Account (food) or Campus Cash Account (laundry, etc).
Laundry Room
The main laundry room is in the basement of Chadbourne Hall with 10 washers and 12 dryers. Washers cost $2.00 per load and dryers are free. Residents pay for washers with their Housing Food Accounts. There are also vending machines in this laundry room. An additional, smaller laundry room is located in the basement of Barnard Hall.
The Office
The headquarters of CRC administrative staff and Leadership Team, located across the 1st floor lobby from the front desk. There are a lot of reasons to stop in, but here's a few common ones:
- You need to sign up for a hall-wide event like the Ski trip, or an Overture Center concert
- You have questions or want to make an appointment with our on-site CCAS advisors about careers, majors, classes, your Wisconsin Experience, or almost anything else
- You want to create your own Interest Group
- You wish to see if you can reserve the Chadbourne Main Lounge for an event
Computing
Our Technology Learning Center (the TLC) is a computer lab plus in the basement of Chadbourne. It has Mac computers, a scanner, and printers. It is available 24 hours/day for all residents of CRC via electronic ID access.
Internet and Cable Television
Each double room contains two Ethernet jacks which provide each resident internet access via the building's T1 connection. Wireless internet is available in common areas throughout the building (the Main Lounge, floor dens, Rheta's, etc.). There is also a cable TV hook-up in each room.
Music Room
A private, sound-proof practice room, available to CRC residents only, is located in our basement. In order to access the room, visit the Front Desk for scheduling and a key.
