Hall Desks
Your hall desk is the center of the neighborhood. You can get questions answered, receive mail and packages, and check out items such as laptops, games, movies, tools, and vacuums. You will be able to add money to your Housing Food or Campus Cash accounts and to sign up for hall events. Wiscard and room key issues can also be addressed by the hall desk.
Our friendly desk staff is here to help you with any questions you may have about residence hall events, getting around campus, or general questions. Feel free to ask the desk any question, no matter how small. We're always happy to help.

Keys and Wiscard Management
Wiscard is your official UW-Madison identification card. It provides access to libraries, recreation facilities and to your Residence Hall. It is the debit card for your Housing Food Account, your Campus Cash account and other services. Your metal key provides you access to your room and to your mailbox.
If you have issues with your Wiscard or your room key, go to your hall desk for assistance. Click to view the Wiscard Policy and the Key Check Out Policy.
Hall Postings
Your Residence Hall provides you timely information regarding student organization activities and events on campus. All posters and brochures must be approved to be posted/distributed in the halls. Click to view the Posting Policy.
InfoLab
The Desk offers three-day equipment checkout for laptops, projectors, digital cameras, and video camcorders. All equipment is checked out through the UW InfoLabs Checkout System. The equipment at the Desk is only available to University Housing residents.
Mail and Packages
US Mail and all packages are received and distributed by your hall desk. Mail is placed in your mailbox. Packages are logged and placed on a shelf, and an email is sent to your wisc.edu account to notify you of your package. You must have your Wiscard with you to receive your package, but you do not need to print out the email notification. We are only able to receive packages for you. We are unable to hold packages for you to be picked up and sent out. Addresses for each residence hall are available on their individual hall pages.
Financial Transactions
Money may be added to your housing food or campus cash accounts at any Hall Desk. Cash and checks are accepted. Credit card deposits may be done online.
