How far in advance do I need to book an event?
Most events need to be booked at a minimum of two weeks out to guarantee our ability to cater to your needs. This advance notice changes with the time of the school year as graduation, homecoming, and other times are extremely busy and should be booked as soon as you know of your event. The further out you book your event, the more flexible we can be with menu selections and dates.
How far in advance do we need to know the number of people that will be attending my event?
Two weeks before your event we will need a menu and a best guess estimate of those expected. Three business days before your event we will need a final count that you will be billed for. You will be billed for this number, or the number of attendees, which ever is greater. If your count rises significantly a day or two before your event, we cannot guarantee full service to all attending.
Why are there no prices on your menu?
We prefer to tailor each event to your specific needs and tastes, and we can work with almost any budget that you give us to provide you with a unique menu for your special function.
How much does a continental breakfast cost?
It varies with the number of items chosen, but runs from around $3.50 per person for coffee and one pastry, up to $7 with fruit, several pastries and beverages.
How much does a lunch cost?
Most of our lunches cost $9 per person, and include the set up and break down of the event, linens for the buffet table, buffet flatware, disposable plates and glasses, an entrée, salad, beverages, and a dessert. Depending on the size of your group, it may also include the delivery.
Do your lunches or dinners come with china?
They can. When we customize your event's special menu, let us know if you would like to have the cost of the china included in the price, or added to your price per plate.
Can you bring tables and chairs to our event?
Yes we can. We charge $3.00 a table, $0.75 a chair, and have a $4.00 charge for linens, which includes both tablecloths and napkins. Tables for service are available as needed.
What is the delivery charge?
All deliveries on campus with a cost of $200 or more have no delivery fee, however if your event cost is less than $200 we charge a $50 delivery fee. Deliveries off campus start at $50 and increase with the distance away from campus, as well as the size and complexity of your event.
Can I have a continental breakfast, or a cookie break for 10 people or fewer?
Yes, however, we have a $50 minimum for any event, and because the cost would be less than $200, the total cost would also include a $50 delivery fee. If you have an afternoon cookie break delivered with your lunch, you would not incur the delivery fee if your events total over $200.
What types of meals do you cater?
We cater a wide variety of events, including cookie breaks, casual lunches, plated lunches and dinners, to receptions, picnics, fish boils and pig roasts.
Do you cater events on the weekend?
Yes. There is no longer a minimum order for weekend catering.
Can I get items that are not listed on your menu?
You sure can! We have over a thousand items from appetizers, entrees, salads and desserts in our recipe database! If you have special interests from ethnic recipes, to dietary needs, please give us a call, we have several registered dieticians on our housing staff to help with special requests.
Can I take the leftover food home?
Because of the state regulations, we are not able to release leftover food to you or your guests. This is a health issue, and we cannot control safe handling of the food after it leaves our controlled environment.
