Welcome to Diversity Programs and Initiatives home of the DSquad!
Diversity Programs Office
Our mission at the Diversity Programs Office is to provide a safe and all-inclusive space that reflects the University Housing principles of academics, diversity, community, and involvement. We achieve this mission through outreach, programming, and promoting diversity of thought. We strive toward social justice as well as seek a holistic approach to it- embracing all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender expressions, religions, classes, abilities, or any other aspects of identity.
The Diversity Programs Office is a lounge, a study space, a chill space, and meeting room located in the southeast area residence hall neighborhood. Diversity Coordinators are available to provide resources, assist with space reservations, and implement programs. It truly is a multicultural community. We have a wide variety of movies and books that can be checked out by any student living in the University Residence Halls.
Housing Diversity Statement
Each individual brings there own uniqueness to our community. All are valued for who they are and for their skills and contributions. We actively seek this diversity and work hard at helping all staff and all residents feel that they are affirmed members of the community. By working together, we can create and maintain a work and living environment in which no individuals is advantaged or disadvantaged for being different and where everyone has the opportunity to develop their potential and contribute fully to their community. We know that our residents and staff will thrive as a result.
