Eagle Heights

About the Apartments

Eagle Heights apartments are unfurnished apartments for graduate students, post-docs, academic staff, and faculty who live alone, with families, or with a roommate. The Eagle Heights complex is comprised of:

  • 284 unfurnished one-bedroom apartments
  • 716 unfurnished two-bedroom apartments
  • 44 unfurnished three-bedroom apartments

Most of the apartment buildings are two stories, with a few three-story facilities. Some buildings are designated "smoke free," meaning that smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building. If an apartment building is not designated "smoke free," then smoking is allowed in the apartments (but not in common areas such as hallways and the laundry room). Depending on the design of the building, apartments open onto a common hallway or directly to the outside. Buildings are not equipped with elevators, but residents may request ground floor apartments. A number of apartments are equipped to meet special housing accommodations.

Furnishings

The apartments are not furnished. Kitchens have a standard-sized refrigerator, a combination stove/oven, and a garbage disposal. The windows are energy efficient, and window coverings (pull-down shades) are provided. The floors are carpeted, except in the kitchen and bathroom. Furniture is not provided.

Air conditioners are not provided, but personally-owned units may be installed. Electrical capacity and size of opening available for an air conditioner are limiting factors in most buildings, so you should wait to purchase an air conditioner until after you move in.

Dishwashers and personally owned washers and dryers are not permitted in any of the apartments. Water beds are permitted only in ground floor apartments.

A storage locker is provided for each apartment. The lockers vary in size and provide very limited storage space.  A padlock is provided that is cored to your apartment key.

High Speed Internet Connectivity

Each apartment has high-speed connectivity to the campus network through the University Housing "ResNet" system. The cost for this is included in the rent.  MORE

Laundry Facilities

Washers and dryers are included in rent and provided in the basement areas for residents to use on a shared basis. Residents are not permitted to bring in personally owned washers and dryers.

Utilities

Heat and water are included in the rent. Residents pay separately for electrical and telephone services.

Cable Television

Cable is provided to all University Apartments through the Residential Television Network.  MORE

Parking

Every apartment is assigned one parking space, free of charge. There is limited second car parking for a monthly fee available on a first come, first served basis.

Pets

Dogs, cats, snakes, and other pets, unless listed below as approved, are not permitted. Small harmless fish (in a tank no larger than 20 gallons), salamanders, caged birds, lizards, hermit crabs, frogs, toads, gerbils, white mice and hamsters are considered appropriate pets if humanely cared for, odorless, completely harmless to persons and property, and kept in a cage or glass enclosure. If you have a pet that is not permitted, please make arrangements for its care before moving into University Apartments.
