About University Apartments
In order to be the "Place where everyone wants to live", the 1,247 University Apartments are much more than a large apartment complex. We support the academic careers of our 3,000 residents by helping each member of each household thrive. We recognize that academic success is directly linked to the success of healthy individuals and families; and a welcoming neighborhood for all ages, cultures, backgrounds, and interests.
Our job is to make certain that we offer whatever components are found in any successful town:
- Social interactions
- Viable infrastructure (utilities, roads, grounds, maintenance and renovations)
- Sound personal finances
- Transportation
- Child care and education
- Safety, security, and crisis response
- Access to health care
- Sustainability
- Participatory decision making
Our Community Center offers one-stop access to our administration, services and programs. It functions as a shared living room, child care center, and recreation center, and serves the wider Madison community as a welcoming center for multicultural gatherings. All staff and residents are seen as partners in this endeavor, and processes are in place to routinely include residents in decision making.
University Apartments is also home of a beautiful community garden for all to enjoy! Want to learn more about University Apartments? See the University Apartments Web site.
