Welcome from the CRC Faculty Director

Hello from Chadbourne Residential College!

Chadbourne Residential College (CRC) is a comprehensive learning community which promotes education in the liberal arts and helps students create and strengthen multiple connections between academic, social, and residential life.

What goes on in Chadbourne Residential College?

  • Our many reserved class sections facilitate learning and friendship.
  • Diverse student groups focus on academic, community service, social-justice, and entertainment-related projects.
  • Monthly social "teas" involve good food and terrific conversation between students and faculty and staff.
  • Weekly "community forum" meetings help students cooperatively manage their community and also gain access to resources to realize projects designed by student groups.
  • In our "What Matters to Me and Why" series, scholars and public personalities (some of international fame) speak about the personal dynamics behind their work.
  • In periodic "topic tables" students meet over dinner with one another and with faculty and staff and visitors to discuss contemporary issues that interest them.
  • Our many social events (ski trips, book discussion groups, trips to museums, plays and musical events, inter-floor competitions, and dinners) all facilitate positive fun exchanges between residents.

We also have the newest cafeteria on campus-Rheta's. Excellent meals are within easy reach with only your slippers on!

Our location on campus is tops: access to Bascom Hill, the Student Union, College and Memorial  Libraries, and the wonders of State Street are just a few steps away. CRC is, in short, an outstanding platform for helping students connect with one another, with their academic and extracurricular passions, and with our committed and caring staff.

If you would like to become a part of this vibrant community, you will need to indicate your interest in the Chadbourne Residential College when you submit your Assignment Preference Information.
