Welcome from the ERLC Faculty Director

Dear Badger!

Congratulations on your admission to the University of Wisconsin-Madison!!

My name is Anne Miner and I am a Professor in the School of Business. I understand that you may be interested in business, technology, or engineering. I would like to introduce you to an exciting residence hall program designed with your interests in mind, focused on entrepreneurship and bringing your ideas to life. We'll focus on developing an entrepreneurial mindset and skill set - which involves creativity, finding novel opportunities, turning hassles into opportunities, and/or creating new ventures. We'll also explore the role of entrepreneurship in society.

The program offers you a unique opportunity to live in Sellery Hall - a UW-Madison Residence Hall at the heart of campus. You'll be part of a residential community that will link your academic work and your living environment. You will live with other students who share your interests. You will be taking many of the same classes, so it will be easy to form study groups and work together for success.

This program is open to all residents, but we believe your interests might closely match our activities and opportunities. You will meet students with intellectual curiosity and big dreams.  Be ready for late night brainstorming in this entrepreneurial "think-tank."  Exchange ideas with people like you who may have started bands, organized clubs, or launched a business. This is a great place to study and a fun place to live! You can find more information about our new community at the following website: www.housing.wisc.edu/erlc/.

If you would like to become a part of this remarkable community, you will need to indicate your interest in the ERLC (Entrepreneurial Residential Learning Community) when you submit your Assignment Preference Information. If you have already submitted your preferences and wish to change your preferences to include the ERLC, please login to the Online System at www.housing.wisc.edu/assignment/.

If you have questions, please contact me.

Best wishes for a great spring semester, and ON WISCONSIN!
