Programs

Numerous LGBT events are happening every single week within University Housing. Two extremely easy ways you can involved right away are the Socials and Educational Programs.

Socials

Your LGBT Liaisons plan weekly socials that are open to any student interested in coming! We welcome anyone and everyone to come and bring friends, and we are open to suggestions for what types of events to plan. Examples of events: Queer as Folk or L-Word movie marathon, outings to plays or performances at the union or overture, arts and crafts social (valentine card making, flower pot party), and bowling, volleyball etc...

Also, on a regular basis we attend the Ten Percent Society dances on campus, and also visit Club 5, a local queer dance club.

*Any student interested in planning an LGBT Social can do so...all you have to do is ask! We have funds to help pay for the cost for almost any type of LGBT event you may want to do, just let us know, and we will help you make it happen!*

Educational Programs

Your liaisons visit every single Residence Hall to lead educational programs to raise awareness about LGBT issues, promote diversity, and create more inclusive communities. Just like the Socials, any resident can be involved in helping to plan or promote programs; whether it is making a poster, telling friends about the program, or actually helping facilitate, we appreciate and welcome your involvement in these programs!

* Participation in discussion is optional
* A fun and exciting time (guaranteed!)

First semester, most of our programs focused on lesbian, gay, and bisexual issues. Second semester, our programs will go deeper into queer issues, discussing transgender identity and people, religious issues, and one of them will even have a game show format!
