Contractors are now in the process of recycling steel, glass, and other materials from the building as they plan to crushconcrete rubble next week before students and residents return from winter break. This crushed rubble will be poured back in to the large hole where the old Gordon once stood, creating backfill material neccessary to build new landscaping and plant grass at the site. Retaining walls from Gordon Commons along the outsides of the fenced-in demolition area remain, requiring special care and equipment to remove due to their proximity to roads, existing utilities, and the new Gordon Dining & Event Center.
