Merit House is a small community that allows students to benefit from the activities and services of the University Residence Halls while enjoying the increased independence and flexibility that comes with a single room or suite-style living.

This three-story building is nestled in the Southeast Neighborhood, near the SERF (Southeast Area Recreational Facility), and down the block from the Kohl Center and dining services venues in Gordon Commons.

Newly Remodeled!

Improvements to the facility offer added comfort for residents; bathrooms and resident rooms are being updated and expanded in spring 2010. Each resident in Merit House also will have access to a newly remodeled kitchen, an excellent space for socializing with floormates and friends.

The location is very convenient to University Square, which houses the University Health Services and retailers including Walgreens. Residents of Merit House also appreciate the proximity to State Street, a well-known highlight of the city of Madison that features unique local shops and entertainment.
