Volunteer in Madison through the L.E.A.D. Program!

MLC residents volunteering in an elementary school. The MLC Leadership Enrichment and Development (L.E.A.D.) Program provides MLC residents the opportunity to volunteer with organizations and programs in the community that are taking action around social justice issues.

Volunteers gain a wider perspective on how community members are coming up with solutions and plans of action to address institutionalized oppression in Madison.

Participants volunteer for 10 hours a semester, attend leadership trainings, and are eligible for certificates and leadership awards at the end of the year.

In the 2011-2012 school year, L.E.A.D. participants mentored students at local community centers, gave presentations about their cultural background, helped teachers at a local bilingual elementary school, and helped with fundraising activities for a local homeless organization.
