Open House will afford residents multiple means of exploration and learning, including traditional classroom instruction in a weekly seminar.
Gender and Sexuality in the Media
This one-credit course, led by Open House Faculty Director and Professor of Gender and Women's Studies Julie D'Acci, will explore the portrayal of gender and sexuality in film, music videos, television, advertising, and other popular culture. Knowledge generated by reading and discussions in the seminar will be extended and enhanced by impromptu conversations and experiences around the lunch table and within Open House and Phillips Hall.
