Witte Residence Hall is one of two large tower-style halls in the Southeast Neighborhood of campus that is made up of mostly-freshman residents. This residence hall is located next to the Gordon Avenue Market (one of six dining markets on campus) and the SERF (Southeast Recreational Facility). With sand volleyball courts and the Kohl Center in its backyard, Witte provides a great space for residents to play volleyball or toss around a frisbee in their free time - not to mention, short walks over for Badger basketball and hockey games.
Witte is also home to the Multicultural Learning Community (MLC). The MLC is a community dedicated to serving students who have a thirst to understand the problems, issues, benefits, and contributions of human diversity and social justice. In addition to the MLC, Witte also has the Witte Hall Organization (WHO). WHO is the organization that manages funding to various hall-wide programs, and provides a range of services from video, sport, and kitchen equipment checkout.
Witte also has its own set of academic advisors from Cross-College Advising Services (CCAS) stationed on the first floor of the building. The first floor lobby underwent a recent renovation to its main entrance, which brought new floor to ceiling windows to the space. Right outside of the entrance, additional bike racks were also added for the convenience of Witte residents.
Starting in March 2017, a major renovation of Witte is planned that will take place over a two-year span. For details, visit our Witte renovation project page.
