Meeting People

Life in the residence halls provides you with thousands of opportunities year-round to make friends, make connections, have fun, and get involved.

Wisconsin Welcome

Wisconsin Welcome is designed to welcome new and returning students to campus, with events and programs to help you find your place at UW-Madison. It's a chance to find answers to your questions, learn about academics, find your way around campus, and discover all that the university has to offer.

Residence Hall Organizations

ATTEND YOUR 2017 HALL ORGANIZATION KICKOFF MEETING THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 10

Every residence hall has a Hall Organization that provides opportunities for leadership and involvement. From being a general member to taking on a leadership role, your Hall Organization has opportunities for all levels of involvement and interest. Hall Organizations are a place to get to know other residents living in your community, voice your opinion about hall improvements, and help organize hall-wide events by joining one of the Mission Groups:

  • Cultural Enrichment Coalitions (CEC)
  • Friends Uniting and Networking (FUN)
  • Res Hall Academies
  • Residents for Environmental Sustainability (RES)
  • Create your own Interest Group with friends!

Residence Hall Advisory Board

Get involved in issues that impact the hall and campus community by attending hall meetings or participating in the Residence Halls Advisory Board with the Director of University Housing. Your input influences the current and future direction of the halls.

Contact your Residence Life Coordinator or Residence Life Program Assistant (RLPA) if you'd like to serve as your hall's representative or wish to pass along feedback.
