Filesharing Information

ResNet strongly recommends that you do not install any peer-to-peer filesharing applications such as Limewire, Kazaa, BitTorrent, Ares, Gnutella, eDonkey, Morpheus, etc.

File sharing depends on the peer-to-peer program to be running constantly, allowing people to download files off your computer. These programs often load at start-up and can be difficult to turn off, often running in the background even when you think you have shut the program down.

Note that excessive bandwidth usage caused by peer-to-peer applications may result in your ResNet connection being limited or suspended until the issue is resolved.
