Connecting to the ResNet Wireless Network
The ResNet Wireless Network is available for use by UW students, staff, faculty and guests who have an
active campus NetID.
- Enable the wireless network adapter on your laptop or wireless device. You will see
ResNet-Wireless on the list of available wireless networks. Connect to the ResNet-Wireless
network.
- Please note that if your residence hall room is in close proximity to an area offering wireless service you may be able to connect to it from your room, however ResNet does not guarantee wireless coverage in individual rooms.
- Once you are connected, open a web browser and you will be automatically redirected the ResNet
Wireless authentication page at: http://wireless.resnet.wisc.edu.
- Read and agree to the Appropriate Use Policies and then enter your NetID and password. You will
see a confirmation page saying that you are now connected to ResNet Wireless. Click the continue
link to go to your home page or you can navigate to any other page.
ResNet Wireless Support
- For support, take your laptop or wireless device to the DoIT Help Desk at 1210 W. Dayton St.
(Computer Sciences building). A help desk agent will assist you in properly configuring your
wireless network adapter. The Help Desk does not provide specific support for ResNet Wireless,
but they can help to determine if your wireless network adapter is configured properly. The Help
Desk does not support wireless cases over the phone.
