Friedrick Hall has worked hard to attract residents that are diverse in backgrounds and experiences and who are eager to live in a community in which a wide variety of informal activities help students integrate their academic work with the larger world and with the rest of their lives. You are joining one of the most unique and dynamic communities in University Housing.
One thing that makes Friedrick Hall such an awesome place is YOU! From the day you arrive, you are a valued member of our community. We are looking forward to your skills, positive energy, ideas, and contributions. Of course, we have many staff and resources dedicated to helping you when you arrive, But, it is all of us, together, that will make Friedrick the special, caring, safe, inclusive, and respectful place to live this year. Whether it's welcome aboard or welcome back, we're really looking forward to seeing you soon!
What is there to do in Friedrick Hall?
There is always something going on! Examples of past events planned by the Hall Association of Friedrick Hall include a Skiing Trip, Kalahari Water Park Trip, a corn maze outing around Halloween, and numerous social and recreational activies close to our lakeshore home. The residents and staff of Friedrick also provide a variety of programming, including: karaoke nights, games nights, study sessions, resume workshops, dance parties, mini-golf outings, faculty discussions over dinner, international food festivals, programs to raise awareness about diversity and social justice issues, and many more. Your House Fellow will work with you and your housemates to make these types of events happen. All of these things are in addition to the more unstructured activities so popular here by the lake, like hanging out with friends, swimming in the Lake, playing Frisbee and volleyball, studying outside, jogging along the Lakeshore Path, and sledding in the winter.
