Welcome to Elizabeth Waters Hall!
Welcome to your new home away from home! In addition to one of the best locations on campus, you will also be part of a vibrant and active student community. From the day you arrive, you will have badger buddies, student leaders and house fellows to help you move in, get to know your fellow residents, discover the UW campus and have fun. You will be an integral member of the community where your ideas and contributions will be valued. Whatever your interests are, you will find a group of people to share them with.

Involvement at Liz Waters
By becoming involved, you create your own home away from home. Finding your niche on the campus can make life on a large campus easier and meeting people a lot more fun. Involvement is about what you would like to contribute to the community. One of the easiest ways to get involved early is to become an active member of your House community. Your House Fellow will discuss some event ideas and ask for your participation in House meetings. In addition to House events, you can get involved at the Hall level through EWHA and interest groups.
EWHA - Elizabeth Waters Hall Organization
EWHA is the student body organization within our hall that serves as the foundation for our community. To compare, EWHA is similar to student council, something you may or may not have been involved in during High School. Everyone who lives in Liz Waters is automatically a member of EWHA - it is up to you to take advantage of that opportunity and get involved! EWHA exists to provide residents the opportunity and structure to achieve individual growth by facilitating community involvement. EWHA empowers residents of Liz Waters to be self governing by providing you with ownership for the quality of student life within your hall. Through encouraging leadership and development and creating social, cultural, and scholastic opportunities, EWHA strives to create an inclusive, safe, and welcoming community.
Community comes from inside! That is why we have this opportunity for residents to come together to help create that community. Along with event coordinating, EWHA also promotes community through giving students a forum to voice their opinions on student life issues within the building and housing. By serving as the governing body of the hall and as a liaison between students and administration, EWHA succeeds every year at making Liz Waters a great place to live.
Academics
Liz Waters also offers several great places in the building to study. Here are some of our programs which encourage academic achievement:
Study Group Kickoffs - Ongoing study groups organized by students in Liz to help each other in their classes. Incentives are provided to groups who meet on an ongoing basis.
A-Team - Academic Goal Setting slips are distributed to residents. Residents then discuss goals with their house fellows when they complete the slips. Goal-setting students are then entered into a drawing for two prizes each month valued just under $50.
Technology Learning Center (TLC) - A state of the art computer lab is available in Elizabeth Waters with a full-technology suite to allow residents to get away from distractions in their rooms and provide quiet study space. Brand new MacBook Laptops, Digital Cameras, Projectors, and Video Cameras are available for all residents to check out!!
Writing Center Tutor and Math Tutors right in the hall.
Favorite Instructors Program - students nominate their favorite instructors in each hall.
The staff at Liz Waters will be preparing in the summer for your arrival and we hope that you are as excited to come to Liz Waters as we are to have you. Please feel free to contact us if you need more information.
