Smart Transportation

  • Researching purchase of smaller vehicles that can handle a portion of catering deliveries not requiring the use of Housing's larger trucks.
  • Evaluating drop-off catering events to determine the greenest option: use of disposables saves a return pick-up trip, or if it is better to use service ware that requires the second trip.
  • University Apartments residents and summer conference guests are encouraged to use city buses for transportation, especially the free routes 80 and 81 offered on the UW campus.
  • A Community Car has been made available to University Apartments residents.
  • University Apartments staff use an electric car in place of a fleet vehicle.
  • Bicycles are available for Housing staff to use.
