Vision, Mission, Description

Vision

To affirm the arts, innovation, and creativity as vital and necessary skill sets for successful entry into the workforce in a range of possible careers and fields.

Mission

To create an arts and design-centered living-learning experience that encourages interdisciplinary exploration. The CADC will serve as a multi-layered collective for students to cultivate creative skills and interests through civic engagement, entrepreneurship, invention, collaboration and the performing, visual, and design arts of the 21st century.

Description

The CADC will serve as an incubator for creativity and innovation. Students who are passionate about dance, theatre, art, literature, film, fashion, music, design, engineering and computer science are encouraged to augment their education by appreciating, experimenting and collaborating with peers in disciplines other than their own. Students will gain valuable experiences by participating in ongoing seminars and special projects related to:

•    Entrepreneurship
•    Self-marketing through multimedia
•    Curation of art showcases
•    Studio production for both film and music
•    Graphic and web design

Through exciting programming, students will interact with a variety of faculty mentors, guest artists and speakers who are at the top of their creative professions.  When it comes to their core studies, students will have access to onsite practice and rehearsal rooms, a drafting lab, and art and performance studios that are reserved for members of the living community.  These same spaces will provide the backdrop for students to develop capstone/studio projects that highlight the importance of collaboration and community engagement.
