Eligibility

Eagle Heights and University Houses

Current eligible affiliations:

Occupancy at Eagle Heights and University Houses is limited to University students, faculty, academic staff or postdoctoral scholars.

To be considered eligible, a graduate student must carry a minimum of two credit hours per academic year semester, unless the student is a dissertator, then three credits per academic year semester are required. An undergraduate student must carry a minimum of six credits per academic year semester.

To be considered eligible, university staff appointments must be categorized as academic staff or faculty or have an equivalent rank as determined by the Secretary of the Faculty.

Non-student applicants must qualify for occupancy under one of the following categories listed:

  • Full professors, associate professors and assistant professors new to the University of Wisconsin-Madison with full-time appointments whose immediate family includes a spouse/domestic partner and/or dependent children. This includes single persons with children, married couples with or without children, or domestic partners with or without children.
  • Full professors, associate professors, assistant professors who are single and do not have dependent children.
  • Full-time academic staff whose immediate family includes a spouse/domestic partner and/or dependent children. This includes single persons with children, married couples with or without children, or domestic partners with or without children.
  • Full-time academic staff who are single and do not have dependent children.
  • Postdoctoral Scholars, honorary fellows and/or research associates.

Current assignment priorities:

  • Student Families (with or without children, graduate or undergraduate)
  • All other Families (academic staff, post docs, faculty, with or without children)
  • Single graduate students
  • All other eligible singles (academic staff, post docs, faculty without dependents)
  • Eligible affiliations listed above are accurate through June 30, 2010

 

Harvey Street Apartments

Current eligible affiliations and assignment priorities:

Occupancy at Harvey Street Apartments is limited to single UW-Madison graduate and professional school students.  Applications are prioritized by the date they are received in the University Apartments Office.

Applicants to Harvey Street Apartments may apply for a one or two bedroom apartment for themselves alone or a two bedroom apartment with one roommate.  Both roommates need to have an eligible student affiliation.

 

Summer Eligibility

Residents who do not enroll in Summer Sessions may remain in University Apartments throughout the summer provided they will again be eligible for occupancy in the fall. They may also sublet their apartments. Sublets must be approved in advance by the University Apartments Office, and the academic year resident must be eligible for and resume occupancy again the following semester.
