Moving Into University Apartments

Welcome to the University Apartments Community!

When you are offered an apartment, you will be sent a Lease Acceptance Form (either in the mail or as an email attachment).  You, and your spouse/partner/roommate, should sign and date the Lease Acceptance form in the spaces indicated.  Promprtly return the signed lease and security deposit to:

  • Division of University Housing                                                             
  • Cashier's Office
  • 625 Babcock Dr.
  • Madison, WI 5370-1213

If you are not in the US and feel the Lease Aceptance Form will not reach the Cashier's Office by the due date on the form, you may FAX your signed lease acceptance to (608)265-5302.  If your plans change and you are NOT accepting this lease for housing, please contact the University Apartments Office immediately by email or telephone.

Please note, the initial lease is not valid without payment of the security deposit.  Be sure your check or money order, payable to UW Madison- Division of University Housing is included with the signed Lease Acceptance Form.  Rent begins on the first day of the lease term and is payable monthly, in advance, to the Cashier's Office. 

University Apartments Resident Handbook 2009-2010 (searchable PDF). The Resident Handbook is a great resource for new residents.  It includes valuable information, rules and policies concerning living in University Apartments, as well as copies of the complete lease terms for reference.

Lead Paint Information: In accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) we are required to inform you of any lead based hazards in your prospective apartment.  Federal guidelines require your signature, acknowledging that you have received this information.  Please sign and date the "Resident's Acknowledgement and Certificationof Accuracy" on yoru Lease Acceptance Form.    Below is the informational letter and a link to the brochure from the EPA.  You can obtain hard copies of both theese documents from the University Apartments Office.
