University Houses
About the Community
Located on the northwest end of campus, the University Houses neighborhood is a community of 150 unfurnished one, two and three bedroom apartments for faculty, post-doc, and academic staff at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Student families and graduate students will become eligible for University Houses effective July 1, 2008.
University Houses is part of a larger apartment community called University Apartments, comprised of three neighborhoods serving graduate students, faculty/staff and post-docs. University Houses is located approximately 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles) from the center of campus and just a few blocks from UW Hospital and Clinics. The grounds are spacious and attractively landscaped, and there are several outdoor play areas located throughout the complex. You can easily bike or walk into campus along a wooded lakeshore path or take the campus bus.
The City of Madison, which surrounds the campus, offers a wide variety of cultural and recreational activities ranging from live music and civic events to outdoor concerts, seasonal farmers' markets, and sports.
