July 2, 25, 30
The Art Cart will be making stops at the Eagle Heights Community Center and Shorewood Elementary this summer. The cart is scheduled to be at the Community Center on July 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. and July 30, also from 1 to 4 p.m. On July 25, it will be at Shorewood, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Art Cart is a free outdoor art program that travel to parks, playgrounds, and beaches across Dane County in the summer. Kids can receive instruction and a relaxed attitude to make art outdoors. Children ages 3 and above are welcome with an adult. Families can drop in with no preregistration necessary. Groups larger than eight people are limited to one visit per summer and must pre-register by calling 608.204.3021. Come join your fellow residents as we take a bus down to Summerfest. Summerfest is “The World’s Largest Music Festival” and is held in Milwaukee. Enjoy food, music, games, rides, and local vendors. Sign up is required and will be released soon.
Come and enjoy an evening of fun, games and music at the Dejope Fire Circle. We will provide items to make s’mores for the group. We hope to see you at the fire circle. Sign up is required and will be released soon.
Eagle Heights Hoops Camp
July 22 – 25
A free basketball cap for children will be held in the Large Gym at the Eagle Heights Community Center from July 22 – 25. Each camper will receive their own basketball to keep and take home. The schedule is 5-6 year olds: 9 – 9:45am; 7-10 year olds: 10 – 11:45am; 11 – 14 year olds: 1 – 3pm. To register, visit: https://www.redvillagechurch.com.
Women’s Coffee and Conversation
Something as simple as a cup of coffee and a conversation can go a long way to grow a community and create new connections. Join the women in the community for chat, friendship, coffee and fun. No registration required.

Concerts on the Square
Every Wednesday through July 31
A free, fun and family activity will be every Wednesday night through July 31 at the Capitol Square. The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra will be offering free concerts at 7. Blankets can be placed on the lawn starting at 3 p.m. You can bring your own food and drink or partake in the offerings of the vendors.
Fourth of July Festivities at Shorewood
July 3 – 4
The village of Shorewood Hills will host a variety of events, starting with a dance on July 3, and culminating with a fireworks show on July 4. There are activities for everyone, including a mini triathlon, bake sale, games and water fights. Events are free and open to the public.
Madison Restaurant Week
July 21 – 26
If you have been waiting to try one of your favorite restaurants at a bargain, you will want to plan your lunch and dinner times for July 21 to July 26. Madison Restaurant Week requires no advance purchase or coupons, though reservations are strongly encouraged. The semi-annual event will offer a prix-fixe menu with three courses and three options of each course for $25.00. There are also $30.00 and $35.00 menu options. Some restaurants are offering lunch specials, with a reduced menu, for $15.00.
School may not be in session, but your child can still learn and have fun while doing it. The Madison Children’s Museum is open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer.
