Students living in our residence halls will receive their hall and room assignments this week via email to their @wisc.edu address. Based on previous years, the largest increase in questions/concerns to our office tends to be the first three days after release. We also see questions coming in at a slower rate the two weeks following as well. We’re handling the management of these questions a little differently this year. Here’s what you need to know.
New Contact Us Form
We’re taking all questions/concerns from families & student through an online form. Here’s how it works: The individual will select what area their question relates to and what topic it fits into. For example, if I have a question about move-in, I would select “Residence Halls (Undergrad)” as my area on the form and “Move-in” as my topic. From there I would fill out my question or concern in the paragraph area. We have staff throughout the Division to helping answer these questions so we can get back to them as quickly as possible.
We’ve reached out to campus partners who support first-year students & families, and we’ve shared with them a Frequently Asked Question document to help field basic questions.
Social Media Presence
Housing Marketing in partnership with the Assignment Office will be increasing presence on the social platforms. Look at our Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts to see additional posts on topics relating to assignments. We are also holding weekly livestreams #LiveWithBucky Live every Thursday at 11 am on a variety of topics. Check out the schedule at go.wisc.edu/liveWithBuckyLive
