In consultation with campus leadership and health experts, we have made the difficult decision to place all residents of Sellery and Witte into quarantine, effective at 10 PM on September 9, 2020 until 8 AM on September 23, 2020. To limit community spread of COVID-19, residents of those halls will be required to remain in their hall during that time or go home.
We understand that some residents may have extenuating circumstances that require them to leave the residence hall for short periods of time for urgent matters that cannot be completed virtually during the quarantine period. We have set up a request form for residents seeking exemptions to the quarantine for these urgent matters. Staff will be monitoring this request form daily, but we request that you submit your request no less than 24 hours prior to the time you are requesting to leave your hall. We are currently allowing exemption requests for the following reasons: medical (if unable to be done virtually), prescriptions (if unable to done virtually), in-person banking, essential paperwork that must be in-person, military service, and religious observances.
Before completing this request form, we ask that you consult with the location off site to determine if you are eligible to visit. You should explain that you have been exposed to COVID-19 and have been told to quarantine for 14 days before seeking their permission to conduct business in-person at their site.
