As we prepare to kick off our first football game on October 23rd, we wanted to take a moment to remind you to make responsible and healthy decisions around alcohol. Did you know, more than 2/3 of first year students report being low-risk drinkers, with 1/3 of those students reporting not drinking at all, and that most incoming students consume 4 or fewer alcoholic beverages when they drink. If you’re currently interested in examining your relationship with alcohol, you can consider taking UW-Madison’s alcohol e-checkup or making an appointment with a UHS Mental Health Provider.
In addition, most of first year students agree it’s important for all UW-Madison students to play a role in keeping each other safe. So remember, we can all help take care of each other, especially in the current COVID-19 climate. By working together to ensure the safety of our campus community, upholding the Badger Pledge, and following public health guidelines and avoiding gatherings and parties surrounding alcohol, we can ensure that we are able to make the most out of this year!
