Is campus mixing swabs or samples from multiple people before testing for COVID-19?

Each person who gets tested on campus performs their own nasal swab with guidance from campus testing staff. Their swab is placed into a tube filled with liquid and sealed before going back into an individual bag and delivered to the lab for testing. Every test is run individually. At no point are swabs, the liquid in the tubes, or tests pooled together with those of others. When you receive a result from testing performed by campus, it is your result only. All campus testing is performed in federally certified laboratories, including some testing performed by the same lab used by Public Health Madison & Dane County’s site at Alliant Energy Center.
