Get to Know Housing Staff: Bridget Sheehy

What is your name and how long have you been in your current position?

My name is Bridget Sheehy and I have been in my current position for just over two months.

What is your current role in University Housing?

I am an HR assistant on the Housing Employment Team.

How long have you been with University Housing? Other positions on campus?

This is my first position with University Housing. As an undergraduate student, I worked as an assistant for the Educational Psychology department for two years.

What do you do on a typical day in your job?

On a typical day, I onboard and offboard student and full-time employees. In addition, I work with other members of the Employment Team to consult with department hiring managers on recruitment efforts.

What’s your favorite thing about working with students who are living on campus?

I enjoy helping students get started with their jobs in Housing and jump-start their professional development.

What is a past work accomplishment that you’re proud of?

I am proud to have been hired into Housing HR. I am grateful to work with and learn from bright people who make such an impact on the university.

What is a secret talent that your co-workers may not know about?

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Pewaukee, WI.

Where is your favorite place in the world?

My favorite place in the world is Pewaukee Lake.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about food. I love cooking and going to restaurants.

What is your favorite TV show, movie, or book?

My favorite movie is Almost Famous.

What is your favorite family/home tradition?

My favorite family tradition is baking cookies around the holidays.
