COVID-19 Reminders – How to Stay Safe with Cold Weather

As more subzero temperatures are coming our way this weekend, it’s likely you will be spending more time indoors. With this shift in weather, here are some ways you can keep you and your fellow residents safe and healthy.

Wear Your Face Covering

We continue seeing residents not wearing a face covering in common areas. It’s important to wear your face covering at all times when outside your room. Face coverings are required in all shared spaces, including:

  • Hallways
  • Dens and lounges
  • Bathrooms
  • Elevators
  • Laundry rooms
  • Resident rooms when a visitor is present

When going to the shower, wear your face covering while walking to the bathroom and remove it when you enter the shower stall. Remember to replace it before leaving and going back to your room.

Social Distance Indoors

As you are spending more time indoors, remember to maintain social distancing (six feet) in shared or common spaces.

Wash Your Hands

Wash your hands regularly and use provided hand sanitizer throughout the hall. Especially when you interact with high touch surfaces (such as door knobs, elevator buttons, railings).

Avoid Gatherings

With the Super Bowl tomorrow it may be tempting to get together with friends and celebrate. Plan now for how you celebrate safely. You could…

  • Celebrate with your roommate and order food for delivery from our Starship Robots
  • Set-up a virtual watch party with your friends
  • Connect with your House Fellow to see what they are planning or if there’s a virtual watch party you can join
