After nearly 17 years of faithful service, the Housing staff intranet and its rainbow of multi-colored tabs is finally retiring. In its place, rises the Housing Hub, a new central SharePoint site for Housing staff that gathers the resources you need for your daily work into one streamlined place.
The Housing Hub, which officially launched today, April 7, uses the same look and feel that many staff are familiar with from their own departmental SharePoint sites. Many of the most-commonly used SharePoint tools, request forms, and campus resources can be found right from the new home page. Users can easily get to their departmental SharePoint sites from the top navigation bar. The site also highlights the latest issues of our Housing Highlights staff newsletter and a calendar of key Housing dates.
Sections of the site include the Housing phone list, frequently used forms, policies, templates, a list of Housing Google Groups, and links to important Housing tools (StarRez, Kronos, SEA, WISER, Office 365, Box, MyUW, etc.).
To access the new site, visit hub.housing.wisc.edu. You can also still go to intranet.housing.wisc.edu, and it will redirect you to the new site. Users will need to be connected to the Housing admin network or VPN.
In the coming months, as campus starts to migrate to a newer version of SharePoint, SharePoint Online, the work done developing the Housing Hub lays the groundwork for an easier transition to the new platform, which promises to add even more useful features.
Thank you to Sathish Gopalrao, Jeff Ritchey, Scott Hubing, and the rest of the AIMS team for their work and support with this project.
