My name is Erik Lenning, I have been in my current position for 3 years.

What is your current role in University Housing?

I am the Inventory Control Coordinator at Liz’s Market.

How long have you been with University Housing?

I have been with University Housing for 19 years. I have been a Food Service Assistant, Chef, and Inventory Control Assistant.

What do you do on a typical day in your job?

I check in deliveries, put items away, order all items needed, and make sure we have everything needed for the day’s service.

What’s your favorite thing about working with students who are living on campus?

I enjoy getting to know them. They keep me young at heart.

What is a past work accomplishment that you’re proud of?

This past year I did all the ordering at Liz’s Market and was very proud of myself for that.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Ames, Iowa.

Where is your favorite place in the world?

My favorite place is Yellowstone National Park.

What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about gardening and baking.

What is your favorite TV show, movie, or book?

My favorite TV show would be Ozark.

What is your favorite family/home tradition?

I love eating kumla, a Norwegian potato dumpling, on Christmas.
