Get to Know Housing Staff: Prakash Rai

What is your name and how long have you been in your current position?

My Name is Prakash Rai. It’s been 3 years that I’ve been working for Housing.

What is your current role in University Housing?

I am Night Shift Custodian from Residence Hall Facilities.

What do you do on a typical day in your job?

I mostly am around the Southeast area for my runs. I go through a couple of residence halls. I have assisted with cleaning front desks, laundry areas, RLOs, and attend to radio calls and some basic maintenance work.

What’s your favorite thing about working with students who are living on campus?

I like the way we work together as a team. I enjoy working together with positive thought, providing excellent customer service together, and creating professional a team in a safe environment.

What is a past work accomplishment that you’re proud of?

I am proud to be part of a good team who provides excellent customer service together.

Where did you grow up?

I grow up in Nepal.

Where is your favorite place in the world?

Bhutan

What are you passionate about?

Helping others, going out with friends for fishing, and spending time with family.

What is your favorite TV show, movie, or book?

My favorite movie is Thore, and I like to watch the Bad Land TV show.

What is your favorite family/home tradition?

I love getting all my family and friends together and spending time with kids, playing games, and staying up late night talking about old life fun.
