What do you do on a typical day in your job?
My role is very much rooted in customer service and answering charge and payment inquiries from student residents and apartment tenants. Our office processes many payments from tuition to housing payments for the residence halls and University Apartments, Eagles Wing Child Care tuition, Wiscard deposits, and even the University Apartments gardening plot reservations to name a few. I also monitor payment activity and manage communications with our residents and oversee academic hold placements.
What’s your favorite thing about working with students who are living on campus?
Most of my interactions with students are through phone and email, but I love being on campus and the energy that the students bring.
What is a past work accomplishment that you’re proud of?
I served on a committee that accomplished combining the housing and tuition bills, for which our team won an administrative improvement award. I was also nominated to chair the Housing Engagement and Recognition Team and am enjoying working with our team to plan some special events for housing staff.
What is a secret talent that your co-workers may not know about?
I actually majored in Radio Television and Film, so in college I hosted radio programs, produced a comedy tv show, anchored our college news program and directed a short film. I also have an eye for photography growing up in a family photography business. Once upon a time I was on a dance team that won a state championship.
Where did you grow up?
Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Where is your favorite place in the world?
I’ve traveled to 8 different countries with many more on my bucket list, but Slovenia is my favorite. However, snuggling on the couch with my two kids is probably my favorite place in the world.
What are you passionate about?
The arts, learning new things, bringing people together
What is your favorite TV show, movie, or book?
X-Files, Game of Thrones, the Office, Peaky Blinders, Ozark, Handmaid’s Tale, Homeland
What is your favorite family/home tradition?
We host an annual football game at our house every summer for our 22 nieces and nephews on my husband’s side. We chalk the field and even fashioned a goal post. It may be more than 22 nieces and nephews, the family keeps adding players to the roster.
