Celebrate Bike Season with Bike Festival!

Spring is here and so is Bike season! Join us at our annual Bike Festival on Saturday, May 21 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Spend a super Saturday learning and receiving information about bike repairs, biking paths, and bike safety. Make sure you arrive at the start of the event to receive FREE bike helmets for children (limited to 1 to 2 per family, while supplies last), minor bike repairs, and enjoy fun games and activities. This is a free event and open to residents of University Apartments. Masks are recommended and encouraged.

Here are some of the things that will be available:

  • Free bike helmets for children! Helmets were donated by University Apartments Assembly and the Office of Child Care and Family Resources. We will have volunteers to help with fittings.
  • Madison Metro Bus will be located in the parking lot so residents can practice putting a bike on the bus bike racks.
  • Bike Mechanics from Budget Bicycle will be available to provide basic service/tune-ups to your bike.
  • Our UWPD Community Officer will have a safety town course. Children can practice riding on the course and learn bike safety tips while riding in the neighborhood.
  • Smaller stations with coloring, decorate your bike/bike helmet stations, crafts, and more!
