The 2023 Cybersecurity Awareness Training has been launched in English. Translated versions will be available in the near future. This annual training is mandatory for all employees (including undergraduate and graduate student employees), as well as retirees and those in unpaid positions who access UW–Madison information technology resources per UWSA Policy 1032 (Source: wisconsin.edu). The training must be completed annually.
Learning how to be more cyber secure is an important part of keeping data, privacy, and IT systems protected and secure. The knowledge you will gain in this training will not only protect UW–Madison’s data and systems; you will also learn valuable cybersecurity practices you can use both at work and at home to protect your personal data.
You must register for one training (visual or text) on the 2023 Cybersecurity Awareness Training website (Source: it.wisc.edu). The training is provided through Canvas and should take about 30 minutes to complete. To pass, you must correctly answer 12 of the 15 multiple choice questions. The training does not need to be completed in one sitting. You can return to the training to pick up where you left off and complete it at your convenience. You can retake the quiz until you pass.
The Canvas-based video training will be available in English. The Canvas-based text version will be available in English, Spanish, Hmong, Tibetan, Chinese, and Nepali and will be accessible for all individuals.
