University Staff Must Use Floating Legal Holiday by December 31. Sunday, December 24th and Sunday, December 31, 2023 are floating legal holidays.
- University Staff employees must use these floating legal holidays by December 31, 2023.
- If it is not used by December 31, it is lost and cannot be carried into 2024.

University Staff Must Use Specific Leave Balances by December 31. For University Staff employees, the deadline to use vacation carryover, legal holiday, and personal holiday hours is December 31, 2023.
- If the hours from those banks are not used by December 31, 2023, they will be lost.
- As a reminder, December 31 is a holiday, so employees who are working that day, or it’s their regularly scheduled day off, also need to use that time off in advance or they will lose it.
Comp Time: any unused Comp Time may be carried over into 2024 and becomes Comp Time Carryover. Any Comp Time Carryover that is not used by April 30th will be paid out.
