In the month of December, we will be continuing to work on the paint and flooring replacement project in the Community Center. Services will be limited or adjusted during this time. Below are some dates worth noting as areas of the building may be closed or services may be moved during those times.
December 4-8
Rooms 135 and 139 will be closed. If you attend an event that normally occurs in one of these spaces, it has been cancelled, rescheduled, or moved to another room. Please contact your event organizer if you have questions about the status of your event. The front office and rest of the community center will remain open and offering full services during this time.
December 18-23
The large gym, lactation room, rooms 133, 135 and 139 will be closed and unavailable for use. Eagle’s Wing Child Care and Education Programs will remain open through December 20, 2023. The front office will remain open and offering full services through December 23, 2023. The study room will be available during business hours through December 23, 2023. The remainder of the building will be inaccessible due to abatement of flooring near the large gym area and then beginning the new flooring installation.
December 24, 2023-January 1, 2024
The Community Center and Eagle’s Wing Child Care and Education Programs will be completely closed due to the flooring installation work that will be taking place in the building. Some in-person services will be available from the Apartment Facilities Offices (2902 Haight Road) during their business hours (Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm): like lock-out assistance, maintenance and facilities services, and some general Q&A help. If residents need assistance during this period of time, a Resident Manager will also be available on-call 24-7; but it should be noted that Resident Managers are primarily on-call to assist with urgent or emergency situations. Because staffing and services will be limited in this window of time, we encourage residents to reach out to our office staff prior to these dates for things they know they may need assistance with (ex: guest parking, parking passes, property stickers, questions/assistance, etc.).
Please note that the Apartment Facilities Office will be closed on the business days where there is a University observed legal holiday (December 25 and January 1). Please contact the Resident Manager On-Call for assistance with urgent/emergency concerns on those dates.
January 2, 2023
The Community Center and Eagle’s Wing Child Care and Education Programs will reopen for full services.
A few things to note
- The UW Credit Union ATM (cash machine) located at the Community Center will be emptied of all cash on December 15, 2023. The entire machine will be removed from the building on December 20, 2023 and will be returned January 12, 2024.
- The Community Center drop-box will be inaccessible from December 23, 2023-January 1, 2024. There is a drop-box available at the Apartment Facilities Office (2902 Haight Road) for anything that needs dropped off or returned during this window of time. All items will be appropriately date stamped on the next business day, marking the item as received.

- Keys (end of lease check-out)
- Garden Applications/Payment
- If your lease ends between December 24, 2023-January 1, 2024, you should return your keys in a yellow check-out envelope on the appropriate date via the drop-box at the Apartment Facilities Office. The Apartment Facilities Office drop-box will continue to be monitored regularly on business days.
- The front entryway of the community center will be completely inaccessible for a portion of this time while the ceramic tile is being removed and replaced. There will be absolutely no access to the vestibule for the duration of this portion of the project.
- The Office of Campus Childcare and Family Resources (OCCFR) will be open for in-person services through December 15, 2023. OCCFR offices will be closed, but staff will be available remotely via phone and email from December 18-22, 2023 and December 26-29, 2023.
